About the Role

Our Client is responsible for servicing and maintaining pump rooms, ensuring that both power supplies and pumping equipment function correctly when needed. They are seeking a Fire Pump Engineer to join their expanding team, contributing to this important work while maintaining the highest standards for all clients.

As a Fire Pump Engineer, you will be expected to safely perform servicing, repairs, and maintenance on fire pump systems and produce the necessary reports that comply with current external accreditation requirements.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Service fire pump systems according to the specified scope of work, ensuring tasks are completed fully and to a high standard of quality.
  • Provide detailed and accurate service reports, including assessments of any necessary repairs to ensure the integrity of fire systems for our clients.
  • Perform repairs on fire pump systems as needed, in line with the scope of work agreed with the client.
  • Travel outside your area when necessary to meet client needs.
  • Conduct monthly stock checks on your van and provide timely stock sheets to the Stores team.
  • Perform monthly PPE and vehicle checks, submitting the necessary forms to the safety team.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-outs as required, as part of the on-call engineer roster.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues professionally and with integrity.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Use and maintain vehicles and tools in accordance with company policies.
  • Always adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.

Person Profile (Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience):

Essential:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full, clean UK driving license.
  • Qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Comfortable using handheld electronic devices to record information.
  • Proficient in standard office software such as Microsoft Outlook (email), Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Clean criminal record, as the role involves working in highly secure areas.

Desirable (but not essential as full training will be provided):

  • CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • Asbestos awareness training.
  • Confined space training.
  • Electrical certification.
  • Experience in the UK fire industry.
