About the Role


Role Summary

The Service Engineer will carry out inspections, maintenance, and installations across intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control systems. You will be responsible for fault diagnosis, repairs, accurate record-keeping, and ensuring all work meets current legislation and industry best practice. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and service intruder alarms, fire detection systems, CCTV, and access control systems.

  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and replace system components where required.

  • Prioritise and manage your daily workload to meet service and installation commitments.

  • Complete all paperwork and digital documentation accurately and within required timeframes.

  • Keep your service vehicle organised and stocked with essential tools and materials.

  • Provide clear, professional communication and technical advice to customers on-site.

  • Respond promptly to urgent service calls as part of the call-out rota.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance the overall customer experience.


Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience within the electrical or security industry.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • At least 3 years’ experience working with security systems.

  • Strong technical background in access control and IP CCTV.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and keen to continue developing skills and technical knowledge.
