Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Produce detailed electrical designs, drawings, and schematics using AutoCAD/Revit.

Carry out calculations for lighting, power distribution, containment, fire alarms, and emergency systems.

Work closely with mechanical engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver coordinated designs.

Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.

Undertake site surveys and inspections to assess existing installations and support design development.

Ensure compliance with BS7671, CIBSE, IET, and all relevant building regulations.

Attend client and design meetings, providing technical input and solutions.

Support tender submissions and cost estimates where required.

Contribute to sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions.

Oversee design changes and issue revised drawings as projects progress.
Requirements for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Experience in electrical design within building services, construction, or industrial sectors.

Strong understanding of electrical design standards and regulations.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, and Revit (desirable).
