Overview
My client is an set to become one of the most successful EV Charging companies in the East Midlands and is seeking a Operations Manager. This is a critical member of the management team, responsible for helping to define the optimal delivery model, managing all operational resource across suppliers/sub-contractors, project managers & field technicians.
The applicant will need to ensure optimal cost, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. They are expected to create a culture of delivery excellence & commercial dynamism and given the space & support to make a personal mark on the future of this rapidly growing business unit.

Accountabilities
• Delivery Model ownership & definition; Accountable for Operational insights & options to allow the Leadership team to collectively design the optimal delivery model
• Supplier Recruitment & Management; Accountable for recruitment & ongoing management of all suppliers, ensuring optimal blend of customer experience, flexibility and cost
• Project Planning & Design Management: Accountable for Project Manager direct reports, developing and implementing the detailed design, installation project plans and Programme Management
• Survey & Installation process: Responsible for optimising the end-to-end installation process
• Customer Contact: Where needed, directly responsible for pricing and organising large, complex, high value projects
• Customer satisfaction: Establish strong relationships with the customer and feedback to senior management team, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
• Operational Risk: Responsible for managing and monitoring all operational risks
• Reporting: Provide the senior management with detailed and on-time progress reports, tracking project timescales, resources, HSE and budget
• Governance: Ensure the Governance framework is appropriately followed for all technical decisions
• Stay up-to-date on the latest processes and advancements in the industry
• Ensure pricing strategies are delivered on jobs to achieve agreed margin and management of costs for Infrastructure related spend
• Work with Partnerships and Sales team to support attendance at client meetings to assist securing of contracts and upsell of existing client relations to win new site
Competencies
• Industry Experience/Expertise: Candidate must have extensive Electric Vehicle Charging experience or clear transferable experience from construction & electrical engineering - ideally beyond with some experience of end-to-end customer requirements, i.e. energy consumption & whole site technologies including storage, generation & resale
• Candidate must have a firm understanding of CDM regulations, the roles of Contractor, PD & PC
• OLEV: Knowledge of grant scheme and all the requirements involved.
• Attention to detail: Apply a forensic approach to each stage of the installation process to ensure a 'right-first-time' outcome
• Passion & Flexibility: Must be comfortable working in a highly dynamic/flexible environment, working with others in high challenge & high support relationships and have the passion to help a small business grow & succeed in a corporate environment

• Must have EV Charging experience or transferable construction & Electrical engineering experience
• Deep understanding of the needs of customers and how technology solutions can be designed and adapted to meet them

• Strong business acumen and effective decision making that challenge the status quo and deliver business goals
• Significant operations experience required, with a focus on day-to-day operations (including installation and maintenance)
Certification:
• Relevant HSE, technical and project management qualifications
• CDM awareness, SMSTS, 18th Edition electrical, first aid, electrical contracts manager, UKPIA SPA, HERS authorising officer, AMP
• NIC/EIC or similar accredited
