Senior UNIX Analyst required by my very large retail client. You will work within the iHosting team providing service, second line and third line support to both internal and external system users of all IT applications, databases, operating system platforms, networks and hardware/devices. Although the primary skills required within the Unix team are HP-UX and Universe (Rocket Software), strong Unix support skills and scripting skills are the main prerequisite for the role

The team is also responsible for the smooth running of all infrastructure within the Group’s data centres. This includes storage (including backups), hardware configurations, operating system patching, system monitoring and performance etc.

You must be available to work on a 24x7x365 out of business hours on-call rota

The Unix team support the HP Superdome with a number of partitions running Rocket’s Universe software on an HP-UX operating system. Backups are a mixture of NetApp snapshots and HP’s Data Protector software.
